Dear friends,
As I write this, a group of Vietnamese Buddhist monks are completing their 2,300 mile Walk for Peace from their monastery in Texas to Washington D.C. Over 108 days they journeyed step by step across the American South, a place of deep collective suffering, spreading a message of love, compassion, and peace, inspiring millions along the way.
At The Radical Embrace we believe we all have a role to play in birthing a more loving, just world. And we can start right here, within our very own hearts. This spring, you’re invited to join us in collectively cultivating healing and transformation within ourselves in order to heal and transform our world.
From March 13th - 19th Balajit, Viveka, and I are offering an online retreat - Embodying Freedom - in collaboration with The Buddhist Centre Online. Join us for seven days of meditation, soulful exploration, and strong, supportive friendship: a gently held space to go deeper into experience and practice. You’re welcome to come along for just part of the retreat and catch-up with recordings in your own time. What some have said about our online retreats:
“I loved how compassionate Singhashri, Balajit and Viveka are, sharing so many techniques and practices to help us work with difficult emotions, anxiety, trauma.”
“All the permissions and invitations to look after myself fully enabled me to also have the bandwidth and energy to connect with and care about everybody else on the retreat so the connections between us all were infinite.”
“I learnt that a safe/ safe enough community is possible. This is really inspiring, a form of active hope I have been longing for!”
“I feel so tender and softened I can see the suffering of the world without becoming overwhelmed or having my emotions controlled by it.”
March 27th we’re offering a brand new day-long workshop - Arrows to Flowers - an invitation to develop a more trauma-informed approach to your meditation practice.
April 24th we’re hosting another Part I: Trauma-informed Dharma Teaching workshop - for Order members and Mitras holding space within Triratna. What some have said about these popular workshops:
“It made me feel like the sangha can really be a welcoming place for people just as they are.”
“When there is difficulty in Sangha, I have greater understanding of how I and people become triggered and hopefully respond kindly.”
“It has given me some awareness of how people may experience a teaching environment differently and to hopefully have some empathy with this. The community agreement is a useful tool.”
May 8th - 15th Balajit and I are leading a week-long residential meditation intensive retreat - Doorways to the Deep. A rare opportunity to give your practice a depth-charge towards greater presence and availability to yourself, others and the world.
Looking a bit further ahead, our very popular six month course - I am because we are - starts September 28th. Join us for this unique opportunity for collective practice over the winter months. This course fills up fast, so do register soon or get in touch if you have any questions about whether it's the right thing for you at this time.
I hope to see you at one or more of these events soon!
With love and in solidarity,
Singhashri
